Learn, ask questions and provide input about upcoming committee reports. The Oregon University System, under the Senate Bill 242, Section 43, convened two committees comprised of representatives of public university management and employees, both represented and unrepresented. From January to September 2012, these committees interacted with employees, consultants, and other parties to research and prepare draft recommendations that – in their final forms – will be part of December 1, 2012, Oregon State Board of Higher Education reports to the state’s Legislative Assembly.

These meetings will include information about the following topics and a Q&A opportunity for your questions and input about the reports.

• SB 242 Health and Welfare Plan Options Review Committee – This meeting will discuss the findings and recommendations of the SB 242 Health and Welfare Plan Options Review Committee that convened to analyze three options – staying with PEBB, transferring to OEBB, or establishing alternative plans – for OUS employees’ group health and welfare insurance.

• SB 242 Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) Review Committee – This meeting will discuss the recommendations of the SB242 ORP Review Committee which evaluated options related to investments, eligibility and future employees’ contribution rates.
Additional information, including the draft committee reports, can be found online at: http://www.ous.edu/about/sb242/
