Community Conversations: “The ‘F’ Word Panel: Reassessing Feminism in the Third Wave”

| Open Player in New Window

Panelists:

Dr. Naomi Zack, Professor, Philosophy Naomi Zack
Marcus Farley, Director, UO Men’s Center

Our panel synthesizes, explains, and critiques the secondary literature examining feminism in the third wave, especially within their fields of study. Although not intended as a debate, the two panelists engage in a respectful, but sharp, exchange of ideas and interpretations regarding the relative influence and importance of theory and practice.

Community Conversations is an academic program that is one of the Living Learning Initiatives of University Housing in partnership with the Clark Honors College, the Oregon Humanities Center, and Undergraduate Studies. The goal of Community Conversations is to stimulate intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, contrarian debate, and articulate discourse among the 3,300+ residential students at the University of Oregon.
