UO Today #712 guest: Elizabeth Woody

Artist, author, and educator Elizabeth Woody discusses her background as an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Woody, Oregon’s Poet Laureate from 2016 to 2018, reads from her recent work. She also talks about Celilo Falls and the Native American traditions that were centered there, and the cultural and spiritual impact of the inundation of the falls in 1957. Woody spoke at the University of Oregon on May 15, 2018 as a guest of the Native American Studies program.
