Diane Ravitch and Yong Zhao in Conversation: Defending Our Public Education from Privatization, Corporatization, and Attacks

Diane Ravitch is our nation’s leading critic of excessive standardized tests and their use in advancing the privatizing of public education. A prominent former testing proponent, she now researches and details the damage done to public education through corporatization, privatization and standardization.

Yong Zhao is an international scholar and critic of the “educational corporate reform” movement and author of Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Dragon, a comparison of China’s hierarchical education system to the path our country is now emulating. He is the former director of UO Institute for Global and Online Education.

Dr. Ravitch joins her friend and colleague Dr. Zhao via video conferencing as he appears live on stage. They have previously appeared together in this format at large conferences.
