With 30 years experience as an architect in California, Mark Mack’s design sensibility, clarity of form, and simplicity of construction have earned him a highly notable reputation.
In 1984 he established his own firm, MACK Architect(s), in San Francisco and during the same year was short listed for the renowned Getty Museum Complex. In 1993, he moved the practice to Venice, California further expanding the firm’s reputation with housing projects in Japan and Austria and California.
Mark Mack’s typological approach to design is informed by his academic interests and practice. He was Professor of Architecture at the University of California, Berkeley, and since 1993, has been a Professor of Architecture at the University of California, Los Angeles. Additionally, he has been a member of the visiting design faculty at Harvard University, Rice University, University of Chicago, and Sci-Arc.
