Dr. Leland M. Roth, Professor Emeritus, Department of Art History, University of Oregon, was the first Marion Dean Ross Distinguished Chair in Architectural History.
A specialist in American architecture, Roth’s books include include A Concise History of American Architecture (Harper & Row, 1979), McKim, Mead & White, Architects (Harper & Row, 1983), American Architecture: A History (Icon Editions, 2001), and Understanding Architecture: Its Elements, History, and Meaning (Westview Press, 2007).
