Moderated by Margie Paris, dean of the University of Oregon School of Law, a panel of experts will offer insights about the history of U.S. immigration policy and law and how the past affects the current proposals for immigration reform including the economic, political and cultural ramifications of the various proposals. Topics will include family reunification, border security, paths to citizenship/status regularization and raids/deportation — connections will also be made between the national and local contexts. The audience will enjoy the opportunity to pose questions to the panelists.
