Tom Bivins earned a BA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Alaska. He earned a Ph.D. in Telecommunication …and completed post-doctoral studies in Philosophy at the University of Oregon. He began teaching in 1974, and joined the faculty at Oregon in 1985.
